Use OpenDNS To Make Your Internet Connection Faster.

Before learning what is openDNS lets us first learn what is DNS. Every internet connection is identified uniquely over internet with an ip address when it is connected to the internet. Any website must be hosted on a server which is connected to the internet and uses the ip address to get connected. This ip address will be in form of numbers seperated by fullstop(.) for example:- 192.168.1.1. Any internet user has to connect to that web site using that ip number. A website in fact is readable in form normal words for example www.dragg.in which has to be entered in your browser address bar to connect to that site. DNS is a service which translates a website address which is human readable form to ip address on which that web site is being hosted. This DNS Service is mostly offered by the ISP of your internet connection. Some times the computer which offers this DNS service to your internet connection may be too busy attending the requests by other connections or that computer may be busy on other services to respond to your request. Because of that reason it may take a long time to resolve the web adress and slow down the progress of that web site on your browser.

OpenDNS is a DNS service which gives solution for the above problem and speed up the performance of websites on your browser. This service is free of cost and doesnot need any software installation. All you have to do is open the properties of your internet connection and use these ip adresses 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 as DNS Servers(Preferred and Alternative) which points to the OpenDNS service as shown in picture below.
